Inter coach Antonio Conte has been criticized for some of the choices he made in last night’s Champions League group stage match against Shakhtar Donetsk in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Inter dominated their opposition in Kyiv last night and had more than enough goal scoring opportunities to win the game several times over yet were unable to convert any of these chances and had to settle for a goalless draw in the end.

In this report, they have criticised Conte for his decision to bring on Ivan Perisic in the attack alongside Romelu Lukaku.

Whilst Lautaro, who Perisic replaced, was the worst on the pitch, the report insists that with Inter needing a goal Conte should have brought on Eriksen instead of Perisic rather than later on.

Conte replaced a tired Ashley Young, who was struggling near the end of his first match back after recovering from COVID-19 with Andrea Pinamonti and proceeded to put Perisic at left wing-back and Pinamonti up front. He ultimately made this change too late for it to have any impact.
