Inter manager Antonio Conte has stressed that the focus is currently on Saturday’s Serie A match at home to Parma and not this coming Tuesday’s Champions League match against Real Madrid.
After Inter’s goalless draw with Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday, Italian media have continually stressed the importance of the match against Real Madrid at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium but the former Juventus and Italian national team boss has made it clear that his focus is on the match with Parma in two days time first of all.
“We must concentrate on Saturday, there is the match against Parma and we must be ready. We must recover energy because Saturday is a game to win then we will think about the match against Real. Madrid,” he insisted in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.
Inter head into this weekend’s match with Parma sitting in fourth place in the table with 10 points to their name and are currently trailing league leaders AC Milan by three points.
As for the Champions League, Inter are sitting in third place in their group and will be coming up against a Real Madrid side who are very surprisingly sitting bottom of the group after two games.
