Making it to the next round of the Champions League would be better economically for Inter than making another Europa League final according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
As per this report, the prize money for reaching the next round of the Champions League alone is worth more than all of the prize money that Inter, or any other club for that matter, would make if they dropped into the Europa League and progressed all the way to the final of the competition.
The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to stress that especially at this time due to the pandemic, which has affected the finances of all clubs, a few extra million euros can make all the difference.
Inter are currently sitting in third place in their Champions League group after two games played thus meaning they would drop into the Europa League if the Champions League group stage were to end today.
