Milan Skriniar could soon be back in training and could be available for next week’s Champions League group stage clash away to Real Madrid according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Skriniar returned to Italy yesterday from his native Slovakia, where he has been in quarantine for the past three weeks due to having COVID-19.

The central defender was subjected to another test upon his return to Italy and the result of the test is awaited. Inter hope that given Skriniar has spent three weeks in quarantine in Slovakia a negative test result is imminent.

If the test does come back negative, Skriniar, like his other teammates who have had COVID-19, will have to follow the necessary return protocol which includes a medical check before being given the green light to return.

The 25-year-old former Sampdoria has made just two appearances across all competitions to date this term and has missed Inter’s last four matches due to COVID-19.
