It is difficult for Milan Skriniar to be able to return for Inter’s upcoming Champions League group stage match against Real Madrid according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Slovakian is still positive for COVID-19 even after 23 days of quarantining and as a result of this he is unable to participate in group training despite the Italian protocol only requiring a player to sit out for a maximum of 21 days before being able to make a return to competitive activity.
In order to return to group training, the central defender must return a negative test result and as things stand, a return for next Tuesday’s match away to Real Madrid is very far away for the player, who has missed Inter’s past four matches due to COVID-19 and will also miss tomorrow’s match against Parma.
This season Skriniar has made just two appearances across all competitions to date and in his time on the park he has not made any goal contributions.
