Fiorentina and Italian national team midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli has shared his belief that Juventus and Inter are the best equipped sides to win the Serie A title this season, a season he believes involves a lot of uncertainty.

“Never before has the league been so uncertain as it is this year. There are so many variables that can affect the path,” he explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

The 23-year-old went on to add: “On paper I would say that Juventus and Inter seem to be the best equipped.”

Asked about sides he thinks could possible be surprise stories he said: “Possible surprises? There are several teams. who, up to now, have shown they are doing well and could be outsiders. I am thinking of AC Milan and Napoli.”

The highly rated Fiorentina academy product is widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders currently plying their trade in Italy and in recent months he has drawn strong links to a whole array of other Serie A clubs including Inter and Roma.

This season Castrovilli, who is contracted to La Viola until the end of the 2023/24 season, has made six appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, which totals 430 minutes, he has scored four goals and tallied a single assist.
