Inter management met with Alessandro Bastoni’s agent in the past few days to hold talks over a contract renewal according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInter1908.it.
Bastoni is currently under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season and the Nerazzurri club wish to extend his contract with them until at least the end of the 2024/25 season.
Inter are prepared to give Bastoni a salary of €2.5 million which will go up and whilst Bastoni has not put pen to paper on a new deal, an agreement between the parties seems to be very close.
The report goes on to explain that Inter are accelerating the contract renewal process due to them being aware that they have a quality defender on their hands in Bastoni and because Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is a long term admirer of the Italian youth national team representative.
This season the former Atalanta player has made five appearances, in which he has provided a single assist for his teammates.
