Former Inter and Parma striker Hernan Crespo has shared his belief that Romelu Lukaku’s absence will take something away from the match between the two sides at San Siro, which will take place later on today.

The Belgian national team player, who has been in sublime form this term with him having score seven goals in seven appearances across all competitions, is to miss the match due to a muscle strain in one of his thighs and as a result Inter will need to line-up without him for the first time this term.

“I think the attitude has changed at Inter, Conte’s arrival has given Inter energy, an Italian team arrived in the Europa League for the first time in a long time, and this counts for a lot,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was broadcast late last night.

“The fact that Lukaku is not there can take something away but I think that with Lautaro and Sanchez they can do well.”

He then shared his hopes for Parma, the club where he finished his illustrious playing career back in 2012: “For my Parma I hope for the best, there have been many changes, in the club and on the pitch. All changes are difficult, building is never easy but it takes time. I hope Liverani can do well.”

The current Banfield manager was then asked which of the hundreds of goals he scored throughout his career was his best one and admitted: “I don’t know, I don’t know one. Having played in different teams, each fan chooses his own. I gave everything I had.”
