Inter are seriously keen on finding a new contract agreement with Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 23-year-old Argentine forward will look to be the protagonist in today’s league clash against Parma, where a home win has been missing since April 2013.

The Milanese club are ready to begin work to offer the player a new contract, the report continues, and would like to eliminate the €111 million release clause in his contract.

The player earns around €2.5 million net per season and would like to double his wages to €5 million, maybe even more when including add-ons.

The two parties have been in contact regarding a new deal for some time now, but serious talks are expected to begin shortly.

Both parties are also keen to continue their working partnership, with Lautaro aware that Inter are a top club who can guarantee him international football and a leading role in the squad.
