Noted Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has shared his intrigue when it comes to the absence of Romelu Lukaku for Inter.
The Belgian national team striker sustained a muscle strain in one of his thighs during Tuesday’s Champions League group stage clash away to Shakhtar Donetsk and is to miss this evening’s Serie A match at home to Parma and is also more than likely going to miss this coming Tuesday’s Champions League group stage clash away to Real Madrid.
The former West Bromwich Albion player has been absolutely fundamental for Inter since his arrival at the club in the Summer of 2019 in a club record €65 million deal from Manchester United with him having scored a sensational 41 goals in 58 appearances.
“Lukaku has been decisive for Inter so far, we’ll see if they can play even better without him. Inter have more quality than they show off, which is why maybe they look for the Belgian a lot,” Sconcerti explained in an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio late last night.
This season Lukaku has made seven appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored seven goals.
