Italian referee Luca Pairetto was injured in the warm-up of Inter’s clash against Parma today and will be replaced by fourth official Marco Piccinini, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInter1908 earlier today.

The report details how the 36-year-old Turin born referee suffered a muscle problem during the warm-up of the Nerazzurri’s league match against Parma in the San Siro today, forcing him to announce that he would not be able to officiate the game.

He will be replaced by 37-year-old Forli born Marco Piccini, who was originally the game’s fourth official.

Pairetto is now likely to head to the VAR room to join Fabio Maresca in the VAR room.

Piccini has officiated four games so far this season across all competitions, giving 14 yellow cards and one red card in that time. He oversaw the Nerazzurri’s 5-2 win over Benevento at the start of the season, where he gave a yellow card to Benevento midfielder Pasquale Schiattarella.
