Inter coach Antonio Conte was not impressed by the performance of Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan in yesterday’s 2-2 draw against Parma, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2022, disappointed yesterday after being brought on late in the second half.

He did not appear in optimal physical shape, although this could be linked to his recent fight against Covid-19, which has limited his playing time this season.

Coach Antonio Conte appeared to allude to Nainggolan and his poor performance in post-match interviews yesterday, saying:

“You can judge him, I try to bring everyone in the best condition. There are those who get there first, those after and those who never do.”

The player was close to a move to former home Cagliari in the summer transfer window but a deal failed to materialise, despite talks continuing until transfer deadline day.

Nainggolan spent last season on loan with the Sardinian side, where he made 29 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 2279 minutes. In that time, he scored six goals and provided seven assists.
