Inter were close to signing Parma forward Gervinho on transfer deadline day, but a potential swap deal involving Andrea Pinamonti collapsed, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how the 33-year-old Ivorian forward, who is contracted to the Emilian side until 2022, was linked with a move to Antonio Conte’s side, with the Nerazzurri believing that he would fit the 51-year-old Italian’s system well.
A deal was set up involving a loan exchange with Parma and 21-year-old Italian forward Andrea Pinamonti on transfer deadline day, but it failed to materialise before the fatal hour passed.
Gervinho scored both goals against Inter yesterday, leaving an extremely bitter taste in the mouth of the Nerazzurri.
Last season, the former Arsenal and Roma forward scored nine goals and provided four assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for the Gialloblu, including goals against Inter in both meetings.
