Inter will begin talks with Cagliari soon to discuss the sale of Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today.

The report details how the 32-year-old Belgian, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, was incredibly close to join the Sardinian side in the transfer window, but a deal failed to materialise despite talks continuing throughout transfer deadline day.

Inter are keen to avoid that situation repeating and so will begin talks with the Rossoblu soon regarding the deal, the report continues.

Inter value Nainggolan at around €10 million, and are hopeful that a deal can be reached for the January transfer window.

Coach Antonio Conte is not particularly convinced by the player and has been disappointed with his performances so far this season.

Last season Nainggolan made 29 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 2279 minutes. In that time, he scored six goals and provided seven assists.
