Italian football journalist and known Inter fan Fabrizio Biasin has shared his thoughts and feelings on Inter’s current set-up, their struggles and how things could go better for Antonio Conte’s Nerazzurri after another disappointing result this past weekend.

Inter dominated Parma at San Siro on Saturday evening and done everything well but score in the first 45 minutes of the encounter.

Inter continued to dominate in the second half but really lacked a clinical nature in front of goal as they squandered several chances and in the end they had to settle for a 2-2 draw, a result they only rescued in the final minutes.

“The situation is not what the fans imagined with a team that struggles to score and conceded a lot of goals. It is legitimate to ask what is happening,” he explained whilst on Italian broadcaster Italia 1 show ‘Pressing’, earlier on today.

“I wouldn’t be so worried though. Inter are not a team that are made to suffer by the way their opponents play but they create a lot and only score little.”

He then went on to discuss what has changed with Conte this season and what the former Juventus and Italian national team boss needs to do.

“I’m not worried by a Conte who doesn’t attack everyone off the pitch. We asked him to be more calm and now that he is, it’s not okay.

“The team needs to play at 4/5 km an hour more to play as Conte’s team. They are great with ball possession but have little intensity.

“I would like to see the coach capable of changing things in the match. I like the three man defence, even if it struggles, but I would like Conte to find the key in the course of the game to hurt his opponents if he fails to break through.

“Now I see a team that starts and ends the same way, despite the changes. I’m the first to think that Conte is not the same from a character point of view.

“If in Kiev, against Shakhtar, Lautaro had scored a goal, Inter had got the penalty for the foul on Lukaku and had not hit the crossbar multiple times, we would be here analaysing the game in a different way.

“Against Parma, I’m the first to think that Conte has to do something more in the 90 minutes. If you have a lot of ball possession but can’t play as you want, change your tactical attitude.”

Biasin then went on to suggest a possible reason behind Inter’s recent struggles.

“Maybe it’s a matter of physical condition. On the pitch they want to do the same things as last year but the team is behind from a physical point of view.

“The team is great in possession of the ball in the opposition’s half but they lack intensity and it makes it easier for the opposing teams to defend.

“For me there is no shortage of players, the squad is so complete that in the long run this team is destined to score many points.

“If we look at the games, Inter have always dominated but failed to score. I’m the first to be critical of Conte because this team is potentially so strong that the coach has to find the key to success. I can’t be worried because this team will score so many points.”

In conclusion he discussed the poor refereeing decisions that Inter have been subjected to on a number of occasions this term.

“The referees err on the side of arrogance. There should be a constructive dialogue between the referees and VAR.

“Inter are in credit with the referees compared to what happened on the pitch. There are several cases. I believe that Marotta complained publicly only because Conte had said certain things in the press conference.

“I think it’s right that the Nerazzurri protest. In Serie A, if you are wronged and you complain then something comes back to you.”
