Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is ready to put pressure on the Belgian Football Federation to not call up Inter striker Romelu Lukaku for the Belgian national team’s upcoming matches according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Lukaku is currently sidelined by a muscle injury. He missed Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Parma, will miss tomorrow’s Champions League group stage match away to Real Madrid and will perhaps also even miss this coming weekend’s league clash with Atalanta.

Inter will do everything they can to keep the former Manchester United forward at the club’s training ground for the duration of the upcoming international break in order to help him get back to fitness and fully recover from his current injury.

Belgium are due to play a friendly against Switzerland on November 11 then will play UEFA Nations League matches with England and Denmark on November 15 and 18 respectively.

The report does however state that given these matches are official ones, it is in the hands of the Belgian national team.
