Inter manager Antonio Conte will look to get his revenge on those at Real Madrid who did not want him as manager according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.
Back in 2018 when Real Madrid relieved Julen Lopetegui of his duties, Los Blancos looked toward Conte as a potential replacement before eventually settling on Santiago Solari.
At the time Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos indirectly criticised Conte by stating that respect is earned and not imposed and that managing the dressing room is more important than the technical quality of the coach.
The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to explain that Conte sought a three year contract from Real Madrid, wanted five trusted staff members as well as the ability to have a free hand, something Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was unwilling to grant him.
Real Madrid versus Inter is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 CET tomorrow at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium.
