Lautaro Martinez has really struggled in front of goal since the 2019/20 season was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Once the season resumed after several months of inactivity, the Argentine national team player managed to score just four goals in the 18 games that Inter played in the remainder of that season.

The highly rated 23-year-old made a stellar start to this season scoring three goals in the first three games but he has once again found himself in a slump with him now just over five and a half games without a single goal with his last goal coming 418 minutes ago.

Despite his recent struggles in front of goal, the report states that a contract renewal will not be impacted and will still happen sooner or later for the former Racing Club player.
