Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has labelled tomorrow night’s Champions League group stage match against Inter as a final.

Neither Real Madrid nor Inter have started this year’s edition of the Champions League as expected with neither side having won any of their opening two matches in the competition.

Heading in to tomorrow’s match, Real Madrid are sitting bottom of the group with just one point to their name whilst Inter are in third place with two points.

“We know Inter well, they are a very physical team that plays football well. It will be another difficult match,” he explained to the gathered media at the pre-match press conference, which was held earlier on today.

“For us it is a final and this is how we will play it. Every day there is a final here, there are three points available and we want to go to get them.”

The legendary former French national team player was then asked about his opposite number at Inter, Antonio Conte, someone who he knows well due to them playing together at Juventus during their playing careers.

“We are not in constant contact. It is normal that he has become a manager, it does not surprise me.

“Our relationship is good even if it is true that we are not in regular contact. When I was preparing to become a coach, I went to see his Juventus and I talked to him, there is an excellent relationship.”

Real Madrid versus Inter is due to kick off at 21:00 CET tomorrow night at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium.
