Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin criticised the usage of VAR and Italian officiating in general in a post on his Twitter page.

Inter were angry after not being awarded a penalty against Parma in the second half of their 2-2 draw against the Gialloblu on Saturday.

Croatian forward Ivan Perisic was brought down in the box in clear view of the referee, but protests were waved away and VAR failed to intervene.

Biasin discussed the situation on Twitter, saying:

“The problem of VAR (since the beginning of the season the technology decides only offside) is the following, they could choose whether to give more power to the referee, or vice versa.

“They chose ‘vice versa’. Who would have ever said it.”
