Italian football journalist Fabrizio Biasin has shared his belief that tonight’s Champions League group stage match with Real Madrid is already a decisive one for Antonio Conte’s Inter.

Conte’s Inter head into tonight’s match at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium, which is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 local time, having picked up just two points from their opening two Champions League group stage games.

Real Madrid on the other hand have only got one point from a possible six and Biasin has stresses that it is down to Conte and his team to get the job done against Los Blancos.

“The Nerazzurri will play a game in Madrid that is already decisive, or almost. It’s up to him, to Conte. It’s up to them, to his boys,” he explained in his latest editorial piece for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

“It is true that in these first outings there were problems related to the refereeing decisions, but it is equally true that more is expected from the coach, perhaps a greater ability to affect matches during the 90 minutes.

“Is it right to keep the three man defence? It is right, after all it is what led him to have that great curriculum, but it is also right to think about tactical variations during games, those that allow you to find the key to hurt your opponent when the team fails to break through.”

Biasin then went on to analyse Inter’s play style this season.

“At the moment Inter build up a lot but do not play with the intensity of a Conte team and ultimately end up only tickling their opponents.

“Tonight, against Zidane’s team and Modric and Benzema and all those phenomena there, the Nerazzurri will have to rediscover some of that spirit that led them to play in a Europa League final no longer than two months ago.”

In conclusion Biasin, who is a known Inter fan, stated his belief that there are only two things that can be done with struggling attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen.

“With the Dane, Conte can do only two things, both legitimate. 1) To believe in him seriously and to put him on the field far beyond the “I put you on but I don’t believe in you completely.”  He must go beyond his football creed made up of players who have zero to do with Eriksen.

“2) He has to put him aside for the January market. Stop, the middle way is of no use to anyone, neither to Conte, nor to Eriksen, nor especially to Inter.”
