Genoa are in a hurry to offer highly rated central midfielder Nicolo Rovella to a new contract according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The Italian youth national team representative has massively impressed since breaking out at the Rossoblu club and several top clubs across Europe have shown an interest in signing him, especially both Inter and their arch rivals Juventus.

Rovella’s contract with Genoa is due to expire at the end of the current season and Genoa wish to avoid losing him for nothing at all costs.

The report goes on to explain that Genoa president Enrico Preziosi wishes to give Rovella a new three year contract with the club that would come with an important salary increase.

Whether this would deter interested clubs remains to be seen but if he did sign the new contract, Genoa would at least be able to get a fee for him.
