Tonight’s match versus Real Madrid will be one of particular importance to Inter wing-back Achraf Hakimi according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Hakimi joined the youth ranks of Los Blancos in 2006 when he was eight years old and progressed through the ranks of the club all the way through to the first team, who he made 17 appearances for across all competitions.
The match will be played at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium which is situated in Real Madrid’s training ground, a place Hakimi knows particularly well given that is the headquarters for the development of young players at Real Madrid.
Hakimi was sold to Inter in a deal worth €45 million, including add-ons, in the most recent Summer transfer window and he could have added stimuli to do well against his former employers tonight and show them just how far he has come as a player.
