Genoa are working on signing highly rated youngster Nicolo Rovella to a new contract according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The Italian youth national team representative’s contract with the club is due to expire at the end of this season and work is already underway to extend his contract past that.

Rovella has impressed in his few performances this season and as a result he has been linked with potential moves to both Inter and Juventus in the past few weeks in the Italian media.

As things stand, there are no signs that there will be a rupture in the relationship of Rovella and the Rossoblu club, where has has progressed through the youth ranks and all the way into the first team.

This season the 18-year-old sensation has made three appearances across all competitions to date but in his time on the park, which totals 253 minutes, he has been unable to score or assist any goals.
