Inter club captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has admitted that the team were not good at taking advantage of the chances that they created in their Champions League group stage match away to Real Madrid.

Inter managed to come back from 2-0 down to 2-2 and had some chances to take the lead but unfortunately for Antonio Conte’s side they could not find the back of the net again and with little time left Rodrygo grabbed a winner for the hosts.

“It’s never easy, but we had the feeling of being able to win it,” he told Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV following the match.

“After it went to 2-2 we went close to scoring, unfortunately we weren’t good at exploiting our chances, they did. In football, unfortunately, the episodes make the difference and in the two boxes it makes a difference.”

In conclusion the Slovenian goalkeeper was asked whether things are still open in the group despite the defeat putting Inter to bottom spot in group B after three games played and three games still to go in group B.

“Everything is still open, in the second round of games we will have to do better in terms of points but as regards to performances, even today we did gave our performance but unfortunately we were unable to get what we did.”

Inter trail group leaders Borussia Monchengladbach by just three points and are just two points off of second place, a position which would still enable them to progress to the next round of the competition.
