Inter wing-back Ashley Young has shared his belief that he and his Inter teammates can turn things around in the second half of this season’s Champions League group stage.

Inter have picked up just two points from their opening three matches and following a 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid they now find themselves sitting bottom of group B with three games to go.

“There are regrets, we are disappointed. We recovered but were unable to complete the job but let’s move on, let’s try to see the positive things anyway,” the Englishman explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV following on from the defeat to Real Madrid at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium.

“There are still nine points to be won in the group, we can reverse the trend. It can be done, we have to believe it, I can’t wait to play the return match in Milan. It won’t be easy but we have the potential to reverse the trend.”

The former Manchester United player then spoke on why the international break will be good for Inter and looked ahead to Inter’s next Serie A match away to Atalanta.

“The international break is undoubtedly an opportunity for us to recover our strength, we will try to regain the right form and the right condition to give our best.

“The match against Atalanta will be tough, we will try to collect the three points over the weekend to go into the international break in the best way and return to winning ways.”

Young joined Inter for a nominal fee in the most recent January transfer window and is under contract with the club until the end of the current season. This season he has made six appearances and provided a single assist
