Lautaro Martinez, Samir Handanovic and Nicolo Barella were Inter’s best performing players in last night’s 3-2 Champions League group stage defeat away to Real Madrid according to the player ratings published in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The highly rated 23-year-old Argentine snapped a five game streak without a goal as he scored Inter’s first goal on the night and also played a part in Inter’s second goal as he provided the assist for Ivan Perisic. He has been given a rating of 7/10 for his performance, as were Handanovic and Barella.

Alessandro Bastoni and second goalscorer Perisic were given ratings of 6.5 for their performances whilst Marcelo Brozovic, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Alexis Sanchez and Roberto Gagliardini were all given 6/10.

Ashley Young was handed a rating of 5.5 but was not the worst performer on the night with Gazzetta dello Sport rating Inter central defender Stefan de Vrij, wing-back Achraf Hakimi and central midfielder Arturo Vidal as the worst performers with ratings of just 5/10.
