Legendary Inter central defender Riccardo Ferri has praised both Lautaro Martinez and Ivan Perisic for the way in which they played in Inter’s recent Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.

Lautaro scored Inter’s first goal of the match soon after Real Madrid had scored their second of the game and the highly rated 23-year-old turned provider in the second half when he provided the assist for Perisic’s equalising goal.

Inter had chances to win the match but were unable to take them, unlike Real Madrid, who scored late on through second half substitute Rodrygo to win 3-2.

“Lautaro started with many mistakes in terms of clearing or covering the ball, then during the match he grew into it and an excellent performance came out. He and Perisic played an excellent match,” Ferri explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was broadcast earlier on today.

This season Lautaro has made nine appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and tallied two assists.

Perisic on the other hand has also made nine appearances and has two goals and two assists in his time on the park.
