Inter still have a chance of making it out of their Champions League group according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter have just two points to their name from the opening three matches in this year’s group stage but there are still nine points to play for.

Should Inter take nine points from nine, they will stand the best chance of qualification, even with seven points they would have an excellent chance.

Qualification with a further six points is do-able as well whilst it would take a minor miracle for Antonio Conte’s men to progress if they only pick up five points from the nine remaining.

If Inter manage to beat Real Madrid in their next match and Borussia Monchengladbach and Shakhtar Donetsk play out a draw, Inter will be able to be more optimistic about their chances.

It is also worth pointing out that two of the final three group stage matches will take place at San Siro.

The report goes on to conclude that Champions League progression would be a nice little money earner for the club as they would pocket €9.5 million for making it into the next round.
