Aleksandar Kolarov was not called upon in the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid earlier on in the week due to not being in the best of conditions according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Serbian national team player was on the bench but despite this he was not in optimal condition and the report from the Rome based news outlet explains that this played a role in Inter manager Antonio Conte’s decision to not bring him off of the bench at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium in the Spanish capital.

The report has not specified whether Kolarov was carrying an injury or whether he was just suffering from general fatigue after a full 90 minutes against Parma just a few days before.

Kolarov joined Inter in the most recent Summer transfer window from fellow Serie A club Roma and he has since went on to make six appearances in a Nerazzurri shirt, during which time he has provided a single assist for his teammates.
