Inter have not welcomed Roberto Martinez’s decision to include Romelu Lukaku in the Belgian national team for their upcoming fixtures according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was broadcast a short time ago.
The striker has been included in the Belgium squad despite missing Inter’s past two matches due to a muscle injury and also being a doubt to be available for this weekend’s match away to Atalanta.
Inter were hoping that Belgium would have spared Lukaku given his recent injury troubles to enable him to recover slowly rather than being rushed back into action.
It remains to be seen whether or not Lukaku will be fit for Inter’s match against Atalanta at the weekend and what the outcome of the Belgian national team’s medical staff’s tests on Lukaku will be on Monday.
This season Lukaku has made seven appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored seven goals.
