Today is a decisive day for Romelu Lukaku ahead of this weekend’s Serie A match away to Atalanta according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Lukaku’s condition will be assessed again today as he continues to try and recover for Sunday’s match in Bergamo. He has missed Inter’s last two games through injury and has been following a personalised training schedule and Inter’s medical staff will determine today whether he can resume training with his teammates, at least in part.

This is an essential step to understand whether or not Lukaku will be available to Inter manager Antonio Conte for the match.

The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to add that work on a diplomatic level continues with the Belgian football federation.

Inter hope that Lukaku will be spared from Belgium’s upcoming matches due to his injury and Inter also hope that the same goes for some other players not in top condition, like Alexis Sanchez, Roberto Gagliardini, Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar.
