Cagliari striker Giovanni Simeone has shared his admiration for both Inter striker Romelu Lukaku and AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

This season Lukaku has been in sublime form for Inter with him managing to score seven goals in seven appearances across all competitions whilst 39-year-old Ibrahimovic has proved that class is permanent with him having scored eight goals in as many games for Inter’s city rivals, who currently lead the way in Serie A after six games.

“I like Lukaku for how he knows how to defend the ball. He’s a powerful player who can give a lot to the team with his strength. I am different physically and I would like to help my teammates,” Simeone, who is the son of former Inter midfielder Diego Simeone, explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

As for Ibrahimovic the Argentinian went on to add: “If I think about goals, I look to Ibra, a player who even with his age manages to score a lot. This means that, if you work all the time, not even age can stop you.”

25-year-old Simeone came through the ranks at River Plate and moved to Italy in 2016 with Genoa where he spent just a season before moving to Fiorentina. He joined his current employers back in 2019 and has five goals in six games this season.
