A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has detailed how the Italian football federation will call up players for the upcoming international break.
The report details how the Azzurri will face Estonia in a friendly match next week, before facing Poland and Bosnia in the Nations League.
The Italy team will be divided into two groups. The youngest players and those with a low number of appearances this season will join the Azzurri set up in Coverciano by Sunday night, and will form the squad for the friendly against Estonia on Wednesday.
The other players, the more experienced and older stars, will arrive at the training centre on Tuesday evening, and will not feature in the friendly.
This will happen because the FIGC want to be respectful towards the Italian clubs, who have complained about having to risk their players in this international break.
Among the players arriving later will be Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella, who will begin training with the Azzurri on Wednesday.
No players will play if they are not in a strong physical condition, although nobody is allowed to refused the call up. Should one do, they could be disqualified for the future.
