A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera has analysed the Italian clubs’ unhappiness at the upcoming international break, amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

The report details how, last international break, the Nerazzurri lost Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni to positive Covid tests, with Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku suffering a muscle injury whilst with Belgium.

Despite his injury, the 27-year-old former Manchester United forward has again been called up by Robert Martinez, frustrating the Milanese club, who have been without their star striker for two games already.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is waiting for a solution for all the clubs, who are currently working with ECA, in preparation for the March international break, when the World Cup qualifiers will be at stake.

Many are unhappy that international football has continued in this period, with players barely being given a chance to rest during this busy period and the Covid-19 pandemic still providing a legitimate threat.
