A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has touched on the tactical similarities between Inter and Atalanta.

The report details how the two teams are among the teams in Serie A that use the wings most offensively in their attacking build up play, with the Nerazzurri making 60% of their plays off the wing, whilst Atalanta play 65%.

Both teams used a three-man defense with two wing backs, as well as a trequartista, the report continues.

The two teams are the best in Serie A for successful crosses, with Inter having made 28 and Atalanta 24. Goals also come from the wings, with three for Hans Hateboer and Robin Gosens and two for Achraf Hakimi and Ashley Young, although the two goals from Danilo D’Ambrosio and one from Ivan Perisic could be included.

Gosens is not going to feature against the Nerazzurri due to injury concerns, and even Hateboer is not fully fit. 18-year-old Matteo Ruggeri is preparing for the game, and could be deployed on either wing.
