A report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport has highlighted how Inter are annoyed that striker Romelu Lukaku has been called up by the Belgian national team.

The report details how the 27-year-old forward, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, has been suffering from a tear in his abductor muscle, that has forced him to miss the last two games.

The player is unlikely to feature significantly against Atalanta tomorrow and even trained individually yesterday, but is still set to be called up to join the Belgian national team by coach Roberto Martinez.

The Milanese club are hoping that the Belgian medical staff will arrive in Milan on Monday and decide that Lukaku is not fit enough to join the squad, although he could still be brought along. If that’s the case, then Inter are hoping that Martinez will use the player sparely.

Lukaku is working hard to be fit enough to join the squad for tomorrow’s clash against Atalanta, but the feeling is that he will only be able to start on the bench, with Alexis Sanchez and Lautaro Martinez starting up front.
