Inter defender Milan Skriniar discussed the Nerazzurri’s league clash against Atalanta this afternoon in an interview with Italian broadcaster Inter TV before the game.

“It’s always a tough game against Atalanta. We have to be careful from start to finish. We have to play to win. It will be a good game, we are also a very attack orientated team.

“We have to take advantage of our chances better than them, but above all you have to be careful at the back.”

The 25-year-old Slovenian defender, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, discussed his return after suffering from Covid-19 last month.

“I am finally back, I am very happy and I am ready to help and give everything for the team. I hope that today we can have a good result.”

Finally, Skriniar discussed the clash against Atalanta and his return in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia before the game.

“I finally came back, it was a hard time for me. Finally I’m here and I have a lot of enthusiasm, but you have to be careful because then this enthusiasm can also lead you to make mistakes.

“Today will be a tough match, but if we win it then we can have positive momentum for after the international break.”

Skriniar has only made two appearances so far this season, after suffering from the virus last month. It forced him to miss the last five games, but today’s challenge against Atalanta will be his first appearances since the 1-1 draw with Lazio over a month ago.

Last season, the 25-year-old Slovenian was a key part of coach Antonio Conte’s squad, making 42 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 3399 minutes. In that time, he provided two assists and helped the side keep 12 clean sheets.

Inter are currently sixth in the league after six games, sitting one point behind fourth place Atalanta. A win over la De could see the Milanese club rise into the top four.
