Inter coach Antonio Conte had planned to start Italian midfielder Roberto Gagliardini in the league clash against Atalanta this afternoon, but was forced to change his plans after the Italian’s inconclusive Covid-19 test, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 26-year-old Italian midfielder, who is contracted to the club until 2023, was set to start against la Dea this afternoon alongside Nicolo Barella and Arturo Vidal in the midfield, but now may not even appear in the squad due to his test results.

The player, who previously battled and beat Covid last month, returned inconclusive results in his Covid-19 test yesterday, forcing him to undergo another swab to verify his condition. The result came back today and was negative.

The 51-year-old Italian coach is far from happy with his situation, with his absence list also including Stefano Sensi, Aleksandar Kolarov, Andrea Ranocchia and potentially Ionut Radu as well.
