Italian journalist Giovanni Capuano commented on Inter’s cagey 1-1 draw against Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta in a post on his Twitter page earlier today, after the game.

Inter played well against the Bergamo based club, and even scored the opening goal thanks to a decisive strike from 23-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, who has now scored in the last two games, helping him forget about the previous five game goal drought.

The Nerazzurri failed to take advantage of their chances and allowed Gasperini’s men to find an equaliser in the 79th minute, thanks to a goal from 25-year-old Russian forward Aleksei Miranchuk.

The Milanese club are now seventh in the league table after seven games, sitting on 12 points. The team have only won one of their last five league games, disappointing considering last season’s form.

This time last season, the Nerazzurri had won their first six games and were fighting at the top of the table.

Capuano discussed today’s clash between the two Lombardy clubs, saying: “Atalanta-Inter is the manifesto of Conte’s Inter at the moment. Not bad, but they lack malice and poison.”
