Italian journalist Fabio Caressa discussed Inter’s current position, the upcoming international break and the title race when speaking with Italian radio broadcaster Radio Deejay yesterday, on the show ‘Deejay Football Club’.

“I think things are a bit strange at Inter, a team that fights for a goal like the third against Real Madrid does not score after recovering from 0-2 down to 2-2.

“It is not possible to concede a goal from a counterattack like that third goal.”

He commented on how the upcoming international break does not provide any real relief to the players, who have been tested with the unprecedented busy schedule amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I would have taken the break without the international games, they are playing every three days everywhere.”

Finally, Caressa did not think that Andrea Pirlo’s Juventus were the favourites to win the league title this season, but a different team.

“If Napoli avoids the drops that Gattuso talked about, then they become the favorites probably for the league title.”

Inter are currently sixth in the league after six games, sitting five points behind rivals and league leaders AC Milan.

Antonio Conte’s side have been consistently dominating games so far this season, but have often failed to secure the three points, not fully taking advantage of their chances and conceding from a low amount of attempts.

Tomorrow’s game against Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta is key to defining the league table ahead of the upcoming international break, as the Bergamo based club are currently two spots above them in fourth, with one point making the difference.
