Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin discussed Inter’s tough 1-1 draw against Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta in a post on his Twitter page earlier today.

The report details how 23-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, scored for the second game in a row, seemingly returning to form after a five game goal drought.

The former Racing striker scored in the first three consecutive games of the season, as well as providing an assist, but then struggled to make an impact over the next five games across all competitions.

The 23-year-old scored and assisted in the 3-2 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League earlier this week, and again hit the back of the net against Atalanta earlier today.

Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who signed for the Milanese club in the January transfer window of this year, was benched for the second game in a row, struggling to impress coach Antonio Conte.

Biasin discussed the game, saying: “Lautaro scores, changes begin, Atalanta wakes up.

“A draw in Bergamo is fair, after such a bleak start to the season.

“And anyway, to see Eriksen watching the others for 90 minutes is bad for the heart.”
