Ex Juventus midfielder Giancarlo Marocchi discussed Inter’s cagey 1-1 draw against Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta when speaking with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

“We’ll pretend that two strong teams fought for the three points but nobody took them. They struggled in the build-up phase.

“Inter were very careful, they managed to go ahead and then there is always something that doesn’t work. Because on Atalanta’s goal it was four against one.”

Inter went ahead in their league clash against Atalanta earlier today, thanks to a 58th minute goal from 23-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, who scored in his second game in a row.

The advantage did not last long, as 25-year-old Russian forward Aleksei Miranchuk netted the equaliser in the 79th minute.

Inter’s draw means that they are now seventh in the league after seven games, sitting on 12 points. Antonio Conte’s side have only won one out of their last five league games, showing the team’s recent period of poor form.

The Milanese club have also failed to win in the Champions League, only achieving draws against Borussia Monchengladbach and Shakhtar Donetsk, and losing against Real Madrid earlier this week.

Inter’s next game is against Torino after the international break.
