Inter midfielder Matias Vecino is not expected to return to the Nerazzurri squad until mid-December, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 29-year-old Uruguayan midfielder, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2022, suffered a knee injury over the summer, which has forced him to miss the end of last season and all of the games so far this campaign.

He has missed 21 games so far due to the issue, frustrating for coach Antonio Conte, who has not had a full-strength squad once so far this season.

Due to the seriousness of his injury, Vecino is not expected to fully recover until mid-December.

The player made 25 appearances across all competitions last season for the Milanese club, for a total of 1698 minutes. In that time, he scored three goals and provided one assist, struggling to particularly impress Conte.
