Criscitiello: “Inter Manager Conte’s 3-5-2 System Is Nauseating & Useless”

Italian football journalist Michele Criscitiello has insisted that someone must explain to Inter manager Antonio Conte that he will not be locked up in the event he abandons the system he has stuck with despite Inter’s poor start to the 2020/21 season.

Inter have only managed to pick up three wins from their opening 10 games across all competitions to date and are on a run of just one win in their last eight games.

Conte’s Nerazzurri were very much expected to do better than this given the success of last season when they made it to the Europa League final, which they lost to Sevilla, and finished second in Serie A.

Inter currently sit in seventh place in the Serie A table after seven games played and are trailing league leaders AC Milan by five points.

“After the first half of Atalanta-Inter I thought it would be more interesting to go and watch ‘Home Alone’, without waiting for the Christmas holidays,” Criscitiello began his latest editorial piece for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

“Conte believes that changing his system is equivalent to swearing in church on Christmas Day. It needs to be explained to him that he will not be locked up in San Vittore prison if he abandons this nauseating and useless 3-5-2.”

He went on to add: “For the style that Antonio has in mind, he would need a player like Cafu. Let’s not forget he has Eriksen in the squad. What has this boy done wrong? Nothing, I will explain it to you, the Dane is the only quality player that Inter has in the team, but for Conte, quality is a tragedy.”
