Former Inter midfielder Pierluigi Orlandini discussed the Milanese club’s title race hopes and their season so far in an interview with Italian media outlet Footballnews24 yesterday.

“Juventus remains the favorites for the Scudetto after having won the title in the last nine years, but Inter are a competitive team and I think they can bother the Bianconeri.

“The Nerazzurri have a very good chance, they will have to mix better and more calmly, but I’m sure that this year we will see something good.”

Inter are currently seventh in Serie A after seven games, sitting one point behind rivals Juventus who are in fifth.

The Nerazzurri have gotten off to a poor start to their campaign, only winning three games out of their first 10 across all competitions, with the most recent being a 2-0 win over Genoa last month.

Antonio Conte’s side have not won a single game in the Champions League so far, drawing to both Shakhtar Donetsk and Borussia Monchengladbach, and losing 3-2 to Spanish giants Real Madrid last week.

The Milanese club will have to bounce back ahead of their next game against Torino on the 22nd November, after the international break.

Last season at this point, Inter had won six out of their seven league games and had 18 points, compared to the 12 of today.
