Romelu Lukaku is not banned from travelling to international duty according to a report from the online edition of Belgian news outlet Het Latste Nieuws.
Several local Italian health authorities introduced a ban on players from clubs with a recent positive COVID-19 test from travelling to international duty unless the players from these clubs were to make their way to international duty by private means.
As a result, Lukaku, who always wanted to go on national team duty, could therefore make his way to the Belgian national team training camp through way of a private flight.
If he does indeed make it, whether he plays or not is entirely in the hands of the national team’s physios, namely Bert Driesen, who is Lukaku’s favourite physio.
Lukaku made a return to action this past weekend for Inter off of the substitutes bench having missed the two previous matches due to a muscle strain.
Inter were reluctant to let Lukaku go and had hoped he would have been spared from national team duty but ultimately could not ban him from going due to FIFA rules.
