Christian Eriksen could potentially make a move to Inter’s city rivals AC Milan in the January transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Il Giorno.

The Danish national team attacking midfielder has struggled severely since joining Inter back in the January transfer window and AC Milan could potentially make a move to sign him in a bid to secure a place in the Champions League.

In order to achieve their goal of Champions League qualification, AC Milan need to sign a quality player rather than just sign players to make up the numbers and Eriksen could well be the quality player that they need.

By selling Eriksen for even just €12 million Inter would record a capital gain and if they were to sell him for €20 million it would be a small masterstroke on the part of Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta. By selling him they would also get rid of his huge wages.

The report goes on to explain that with the money raised through his sale, Inter could potentially reinvest it into signing Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante, who they showed a real interest in signing in the Summer.
