Antonio Conte’s contract protects his position as Inter manager according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Inter have not started the 2020/21 season how they were expected to. Inter have won just three of their first 10 matches across all competitions to date and are sitting bottom of their Champions League group at the half way point.

As always in cases of poor form, the manager is the first, and most often main, person to be questioned but Conte is currently on a contract until the end of next season worth €12 million a year.

Inter president Steven Zhang was the most convinced of all when it came to wanting to maintain the status quo when Inter management met with Conte at the end of last season to discuss his future at the helm following a difficult final few weeks during which Conte made several public outbursts.

The report goes on to stress that there cannot be unlimited trust in Conte though, especially if there is not a turnaround in results following the international break.

The report also adds that Massimiliano ‘Max’ Allegri is still seeking employment and his shadow will only grow over Conte if Inter’s struggles continue.
