Inter central defender Milan Skriniar has revealed he does not know anything about travel restrictions that were put in place by local authorities for footballers called up for national team duty.

“I didn’t notice these rumors, I spoke to the club immediately after our match against Atalanta and they told me that there was no problem,” the Slovakian explained in an interview with the official website of the Slovakian national team.

“My teammates also answered their respective national team calls. I don’t know where this information came from, I don’t know anything about it.”

The former Sampdoria player, who joined Inter in 2017, then went on to discuss his personal experience with COVID-19, which forced him to self isolate in Slovakia for several weeks and miss five of Inter’s matches.

“I trained even when I was locked up at home. I started training with the team slowly, so I played the first game after overcoming the virus. I absolutely want to play and help the team.”

He then went on to look ahead to Slovakia’s first match of the international break which comes away to Northern Ireland in one of four UEFA Euro 2020 play-off finals on Thursday night.

“I think it will be something similar to the match we played against Ireland. It will be hard fought and our coach will show us the strengths and weaknesses of our opponents.”

This season Skriniar has been limited to just three appearances across all competitions to date this season. In his time on the park he has failed to provide any goal contributions nor has he helped Inter to keep any clean sheets.
